DMCA & Copyright Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

Youtube4DL respects the rights of copyright owners. We do not host or store videos: files are streamed from the original platform when a user requests them. We can, however, block specific videos from being processed by our Service.

How to request that a video be blocked

If you own the copyright in a video, or are authorised to act for the owner, send a notice to info@youtube4dl.com with the subject “DMCA notice” that includes:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
  3. the URL of each video you want blocked (for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=…);
  4. your name, address, telephone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on its behalf.

We aim to process complete notices within two business days. Blocked videos can no longer be downloaded through Youtube4DL.

Removing the original video

Blocking a video on Youtube4DL does not remove it from YouTube. To have the video taken down at its source, use YouTube’s own copyright removal process.

Counter-notices

If you believe a video was blocked by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with your contact details, the URL of the blocked video, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was blocked by mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.

Repeat infringers

We may restrict access for users or networks that repeatedly use the Service to infringe copyright.
