This Privacy Policy explains what information Youtube4DL (“we”, “us”) collects when you use www.youtube4dl.com, how we use it and the choices you have. We built the Service to work without accounts and to collect as little as possible.
Information we process
- Video links you submit. We use the link to fetch the video’s details and prepare your download. We do not link it to your identity.
- IP address. Used temporarily to apply rate limits, to lock download links to your device or network so they can’t be reused by others, and to protect the Service from abuse. Rate-limit records expire within an hour; download links expire within a few hours.
- Technical logs. Our servers and our network provider keep standard logs (IP address, browser type, time, requested address) for security and troubleshooting, usually for no longer than 30 days.
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.
We do not store copies of the videos or audio you download.
Cookies and similar technologies
Youtube4DL itself does not use cookies to track you. We store a small counter in your browser’s local storage to limit how often advertisements open. Our advertising and analytics partners may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to measure visits, show ads and prevent fraud. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the downloader keeps working without them.
Third-party services
- Advertising networks display ads and may collect device and usage information according to their own privacy policies.
- Analytics (such as Google Analytics, if enabled) helps us understand how the site is used through aggregated statistics.
- Cloudflare protects and accelerates the site and processes traffic to block attacks.
- YouTube serves the media you request. Video thumbnails are loaded from YouTube’s image servers.
Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)
We process data on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service, and on your consent where required for advertising cookies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because we hold very little data and no accounts, we may need details such as your IP address and the time of your visit to locate any records. Contact us at info@youtube4dl.com.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
